Why We Built Skinny Up!® — And How It Compares to GLP-1 Drugs
These days it feels like everyone is talking about GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy and Zepbound. We get asked about them all the time: "Is Skinny Up!® like that? Why would I choose you instead?"
It's a fair question, and it deserves a real answer. So let's start at the beginning — why we created Skinny Up!® in the first place — and then talk honestly about how our approach is different.
Where we started: the hCG diet
When we began, we modeled our protocol on the hCG diet. hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a hormone the body produces in large amounts during pregnancy. The idea behind the hCG diet was that pairing this hormone with a very low-calorie, low-fat, low-carb menu would help the body draw on its stored fat for fuel.
We saw the appeal — but we also saw what was missing. Rapid weight loss puts real demands on the body, especially the liver and kidneys, which do a lot of the work of processing what's released as fat is broken down. The hCG approach offered those organs no extra support. People were often tired and depleted.
That gap is why Skinny Up!® exists.

Our approach: support the body while it does the work
Skinny Up!® products are blends of vitamins and herbs chosen to give nutritional support to the liver, kidneys and other organs that work hard during weight loss. Our philosophy is simple: when you cut calories, your body should be well supported as it turns to its own reserves for fuel.
That's the heart of what we do. Instead of relying on a hormone, we focus on nourishing the systems your body depends on, so you can lose weight while feeling energized rather than worn out.
The GLP-1 question
GLP-1 drugs work differently. They slow how quickly the stomach empties and turn down appetite, so people simply eat less. For some people, under a doctor's care, they're an important medical tool.
But they come with trade-offs that people are talking about more and more:
- Muscle loss. When weight comes off quickly, some of it can come from muscle rather than fat. That's a real concern for strength, metabolism and healthy aging.
- "Ozempic face." The term has caught on for the hollowed, older look some people notice as facial fat disappears quickly.
- Side effects. Nausea and other digestive issues are common, especially early on.
- Weight regain. Many people regain much of the weight after they stop taking the medication.
We believe weight loss should leave you stronger, not depleted. That's what drives everything we do.
After the diet: making it last
Losing the weight is only half the journey. Keeping it off is where most diets fall apart.
Skinny Up!® guides customers through a stabilization phase designed to help their body settle at its new weight. Along the way, people learn which foods leave them inflamed and sluggish and which ones give them energy. They stop eating on autopilot. They leave with habits and awareness that carry forward long after the program ends.

The Skinny Dance
Our customers know the Skinny Dance well. It's what happens when you step off the scale in the morning, see another pound or two gone, and can't help dancing around the bathroom.
We've heard from so many people over the years who say Skinny Up!® gave them a new lease on life. Some had carried extra weight for years without ever budging the scale. Finally seeing progress made them feel capable of tackling other big things. Some went back to school for a master's degree. Some left a career that drained them to chase a dream. Some took up a new sport.
We love being part of that new life.
What about cost?
Without insurance coverage, GLP-1 drugs typically cost several hundred dollars a month, and losing 30 pounds often takes three to six months on the medication. The Skinny Up!® package costs less than a single month of a GLP-1 drug.
