Frequently Asked Questions

Typical results are between 0.5 - 2.0 pounds per day, on average. Remember, this is an average over the course of the entire protocol. Some days will show more of a loss than other days. That is totally normal!

Often, there is greater weight loss experienced during the first week or so of the protocol. Around day 10, almost every person will experience a plateau (stall) in their weight loss. This will typically last 2-4 days. After that, most people experience a fairly steady daily weight loss for the rest of their Skinny Up!® journey.

Skinny Up!® Reduce is designed to help you lose weight. 1 bottles lasts 12-14 days. So...

  • to lose 8-10 pounds, you need 1 bottle of Reduce
  • to lose 15-20 pounds, you need 2 bottles of Reduce
  • to lose 20-30 pounds, you need 3 bottles of Reduce

Skinny Up!® Yeast Redux is designed to kill candida yeast overgrowth which is the typical cause of sugar cravings (among other symptoms). If you experience these and need to lose weight as well, a Skinny Up!® Package would be the most appropriate for you.

  • The Deluxe Package - lose 20-30 pounds (3 bottles of Reduce) while addressing candida overgrowth (1 bottle of Yeast Redux). Retrain well with 1 bottle of Maintain.
  • The Basic Package - lose 15-20 pounds (2 bottles of Reduce) while addressing candida overgrowth (1 bottle of Yeast Redux). Retrain well with 1 bottle of Maintain.
  • The Essential Package - lose 8-10 pounds (1 bottle of Reduce) while addressing candida overgrowth (1 bottle of Yeast Redux). Retrain well with 1 bottle of Maintain.

Skinny Up!® Yeast Redux can be used on its own, without using Reduce at the same time. Yeast Redux is effective and useful as a standalone product to combat the symptoms and prevalence of candida yeast overgrowth.

Skinny Up!® Maintain is designed to help a person maintain their weight loss success. It is not designed to help a person lose weight, but rather to support during the Retrain Phase and beyond as it offers a limited amount of support to the brain and body.

The Retrain Phase is the main time that people use Skinny Up!® Maintain, but some choose to use it as a daily supplement in everyday life as it is a great way to get some b vitamins and amino acids.

What most people feel and what we, the Skinny Up!® Team would expect for you to feel:

  • Energized
  • Empowered
  • Satisfied (concerning your hunger level)
  • Like you have better mental clarity
  • Excited that you're losing weight so quickly and easily

What we would not expect you to feel (and if you do, please contact our team so that we can help!):

  • Hungry
  • Jittery
  • Frustrated
  • Bloated
  • Sick

A note about detoxification and its effects: Much of the toxicity that gets taken in throughout your life gets packed away in the visceral fat cells. Since that is the fat that we are targeting during the Skinny Up!® Protocol, that toxicity has to get processed by the liver and make its way out of the body for good. This is a good thing!

Depending on your body's level of toxicity, you may feel rather poor during the first few days of the protocol as the body begins to make the transition from feeding off of fat, to now feeding off of sugar. This process encourages major detoxification.

This new level of toxicity in your body (since it is no longer sealed away in the visceral fat cells) can cause you to feel poorly for a few days. This can look like flu-like symptoms in the form of mild nausea, headaches, or achiness. Again, this should pass within the first few days leaving you feeling even more energized than before you started.

Not every person will experience this. Most people don't. But it is a good idea to warn you that it is possible.

Great question! During the Reduce Phase of the Skinny Up!® Protocol, we provide a specific list of foods that you should choose from for your meals. Sometimes, people look at this list and think, "I could never do that. There isn't enough variety for me."

Can we challenge that thought process? These foods have been selected because they are nutritious and simple for the body to break down. The foods that are not on this list are not there because they tend to slow down the weight loss process.

When it comes to variety, remember that you can do difficult things. Simplicity helps to give your body a chance to digest stored nutrition and stored toxicity that has been tucked away in visceral fat cells.

So, the list:

Protein Options:

  • Chicken breast
  • Lean beef
  • Elk
  • Buffalo/bison
  • Veal
  • Shrimp
  • Lobster
  • Crab
  • White fish
  • Tofu
  • Tuna
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Eggs

Vegetable Options:

  • Radishes
  • Cucumbers
  • Celery
  • Fennel
  • Cabbage
  • Tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Spinach
  • Lettuce
  • Chard
  • Asparagus
  • Beet greens

Fruit Options:

  • Apple
  • Orange
  • Strawberries
  • Grapefruit
  • Tomatoes

Carb Options:

  • Melba toast
  • Grissini sticks

Since Skinny Up!® is all-natural and hormone-free, there really aren’t any side effects.

However, since candida is being killed at a high rate and fat cells are being cleaned out of the toxicity they hold, a person can experience flu-like symptoms in the first week of the Reduce Phase. Other candida die-off symptoms can include mild headaches and mild fatigue.

It is also important to know that between the Skinny Up!® products and the Skinny Up!® protocol,  major detox happens, especially during the first week. For years, the body packs away not only stored nutrition, but also toxicity from foods you consume, medications used, old hormones, and remnants of toxicity that entered the body through breathing or through other means. During the Skinny Up!® process, all of that... the good, the bad, and the ugly, have to be sorted out (primarily by the liver) and either consumed as energy, or sent out of the body for good. This is typically a healthy thing, even though it can be uncomfortable for some during that first week or so.

As always, we at Skinny Up!® highly encourage and recommend that you speak with your primary care physician before starting Skinny Up!®.

You can view all of the ingredients for the Skinny Up!® products by clicking here.

Customers are always recommended and encouraged to check in with their primary care physician before doing any weight loss protocol, including Skinny Up!®. It is true that most people can successfully do the Skinny Up!® Protocol if they stick to it with determination and perseverance.* Skinny Up!® is very simple and easy to do, but it does take adherence to the specific guidelines put forth in the Skinny Up!® Protocol Guide.

Anyone with specific dietary needs are highly encouraged to meet with and discuss Skinny Up!® with their primary care physician before beginning Skinny Up!®.

We recommend that only those who have gone through puberty go through the Skinny Up!® protocol.

Weight loss is often an emotional experience, as well as a health transformation. Not only will a child's body change already as it goes through the puberty process, but they are already going to be feeling emotional, sometimes overwhelmed... there is a just a lot happening to a person of that age.

To add in the stress, both mentally and emotionally, of losing weight can be a lot. Skinny Up!® works to encourage health on all levels and to help encourage great confidence in youth. To help ensure this goal, we recommend that people wait until they are completely through puberty to go through the Skinny Up!® protocol.

No, Skinny Up!® Products do not contain any hormones.

All products are all-natural and hormone-free, so you can rest assured that you are putting the most quality and safe ingredients possible into your body.

Skinny Up!® Reduce was modeled after hCG products that have historically been used for weight loss. Originally, Skinny Up!® Reduce did contain the hCG hormone, but within our first year as a company, back in 2011, we removed the hCG from our formula and moved forward with an all-natural, hormone-free product that has all of the results, none of the hormone.

No. Skinny Up!® was originally designed around the HCG hormone, but after the first year or so (back in 2010) we made a switch to an all-natural and hormone free formula. We continually upgrade our formula to make sure that our customers receive the best possible product, so it will occasionally slightly change.

For more information about how Skinny Up!®  is different from other weight loss protocols, click here.

Yes. With every Skinny Up!® purchase that includes Skinny Up!® Reduce, you will receive a Skinny Up!® Protocol Guide that gives detailed information about the recommend protocol along with instructions on exactly what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat.

Skinny Up!® utilizes an intermittent fasting approach while guiding you in the specifics of what to eat in controlled portion sizes. This allows for your body to have time and space to process and consume stored nutrition from the visceral fat cells while ridding the body of stored toxicity. Because of the support of the Skinny Up!® products, the body is able to go through this process without additional stress and typically without feeling hungry or jittery.**

Great question.

Short answer:  The weight loss results are the same.

Longer answer:  It's a very similar effect.

HCG, human chorionic gonadotropin, is a hormone that signals the brain to open the visceral fat, so that the body has access to the stored nutrition in the visceral fat.  This is happening because a person is pregnant. The body is attempting to feed the baby this stored nutrition which it normally keeps locked up tight.  Besides nutrition, the visceral fat also stores toxicity.

When a person starts a traditional low calorie diet their body will begin looking for nutrition from within, since it is not getting enough in through the mouth..  without HCG or our products in their system, It might go to dermal fat, structural fat or even muscle tissue for that nutrition; being very hesitant to  unlock visceral fat.  If HCG is present, the body is getting the message to unlock the visceral fat first to get at nutrition, and it does.  The  HCG dosage typically does not include nutritional support for the liver/kidney work to be done in the department of processing the toxicity leaving the visceral fat, and eventually the body.

Our products are loaded with specific nutrition supportive to the liver/kidney complex, and the other organs that work very hard during weight loss and detox.    When our products are in the body, it is willing to unlock this visceral fat when looking for nutrition due to low calorie eating because it senses that it is safe for all the organs to handle the toxicity that will need to be processed and eliminated.

So.  Same effect.  For different reasons.

In overview, you'll be taking products that are loaded with specific nutrition to support the various organs that work very hard during weight loss and detox.

Because of these products in your system, your body will be willing to unlock visceral fat where you have stored nutrition and also toxicity.

You will be following an eating plan which consists of two meals per day.  Each meal will have one serving of: a protein, a vegie, a fruit, and a small carb.  The food selections are given in the protocol book; they are ordinary foods you find in every grocery store.

You are not counting calories, but there is portion control.  Truly, food going in through the mouth will be a small daily intake of calories, but because of the unlocked visceral fat, you will be consuming between 2000 and 4000 calories a day, coming straight from that stored nutrition.  And that is why you won't be hungry:  you'll be feasting on stored nutrition.

Skinny Up!® Reduce, our weight loss product, it a combination of amino acids and vitamins that work to lower overall stress on the various systems of the body. It is this product in your system that allows you to follow the Skinny Up! protocol without feeling hungry or jittery.

You'll also be eliminating all of the previously stored toxicity from the body. And, you'll be killing off most candida overgrowth, a major source of cravings, through the use of Skinny Up!® Yeast Redux. It is a marvelous process for your body.

Most people report increased energy, vibrancy, mental clarity, and just plain old hope.  It is so fun to comprehend that you CAN control your body.

If you were to follow the Skinny Up!® Protocol without using Skinny Up!® Reduce, you would likely still lose weight. It would be terribly uncomfortable, but eventually, your body would begin eating its stores of nutrition in order to keep you going.

Skinny Up!® Reduce is helpful for a number of reasons:

  1. The amino acids help to regulate blood sugar levels by slowly breaking down, giving your body a nice, even level of energy to feed off of throughout the day.
  2. The B vitamins aid in the metabolism in your cells, increasing the function of the brain, and by boosting energy levels.
  3. Other vitamins like zinc, vitamin E, and niacin help to boost immune function to keep you healthy and thriving as your body releases stored toxicity, getting rid of it for good.

It is the combination of all of these components (plus some!) that allow the brain to effortlessly let go of the reigns and allow the body to consume stored nutrition easily.

Without this support, the body would sense stress and assume that it needs to go into a starvation mode. This messes with the metabolism and you would experience lots of hunger.

At Skinny Up!®, we work hard to keep our products as up to date as possible. As nutritional research continues and advances, so do our products.

At the same time, our products are all-natural, liquid products. So, being all-natural means that components are being grown and harvested from different soils and areas around the world (combined, produced, and packaged in the USA). This process means that there will be some differences from batch to batch. We will tweak the flavoring agent to help always keep it palatable.

Yes! We have had many women who have successfully gone through the Skinny Up!®  Protocol after they’ve gone through menopause. Skinny Up!® works to clean out the body on a cellular level. Which means that stored, old hormones will finally be cleared out of the body. So, many women feel even more energized than before they began once they go through the Skinny Up!® Protocol.

Sometimes, women who have not had a menstrual cycle in a few years do Skinny Up!® and experience some spotting. This is not a cause for alarm, but instead a sign that the body is getting rid of stored hormones. How wonderful!

Yes! We've had many vegetarian customers who have successfully completed the Skinny Up!® protocol. The main concern is the protein portion.

In the list given, vegetarians can choose from eggs, cottage cheese, and tofu. In addition, edamame can occasionally be used as a protein source. Seitan is also an occasional option.

Sometimes, people wonder if they could supplement with a protein shake. In general, we encourage people to not utilize protein shakes since there are typically larger amounts of sugar substitutes or chemical preservatives that can slow down the weight loss process. That being said, protein shakes are getting better and better all of the time, and sometimes the good outweighs the bad. You could try it and see how you do by watching the scale the next day after trying.

There are few people who truly should not do Skinny Up!®. Because Skinny Up!® is such an amazing detoxification process, even if there are additional health issues going on, Skinny Up!® is often supportive of restoring health and wellness.

Of course, we recommend that you always chat with your primary care physician before doing Skinny Up!® to be sure that you’re being safe and healthy. Some of the only people that should change their approach to the protocol, though, are people with Type 1 Diabetes, those currently battling cancer (especially if they’re currently going through chemotherapy), or similar situations.

Things like not having a thyroid or having hormonal issues can and likely will affect the weight loss process by slowing it down a bit, but you should still be losing weight. To chat through your specific situation, please schedule a coaching session and a Skinny Up!® team member will be able to talk through your specific needs with you.

Yes. The Loading Phase is what gets your body in gear to lose weight by ramping up the amount of fat that your body is consuming.

The goal is that on day 3, when you make the switch to Reduce Phase eating, your body will stay in that fat burning mode. The difference, though, is that the bulk of that fat will be coming from the visceral fat cells in the body rather than from food coming in through the mouth.

Imagine a bow and arrow. If you want the arrow to really go far, you need to pull the string back as far as you can. It takes the effort of going backwards, just a little bit, in order to have a great forward movement.

The same is true when it comes to loading and weight loss. The Loading Phase is vital because it is where you get your body in gear to lose weight. By cranking up the amount of fat that goes in, you are forcing the body to consume high levels of fat.

This process is called ketosis.

The body needs a constant supply of energy, so if it doesn’t have enough glucose (or sugar) to keep it going, the liver will turn fat into ketones to use as fuel. The way that we eat directly influences how the liver makes (or doesn’t make) ketones which lead to weight loss. To get into ketosis, you can either stop eating carbohydrates so that the liver only has fat stores to take from. Or you can flood the system with fat so that the liver has to produce ketones in order to metabolize everything that is coming your way.

The Skinny Up!® Protocol utilizes both approaches to make a seamless, struggle-free experience leading to fast and effective weight loss.

The Loading Phase is where we pump up the amount of fat in the system. This revs up the body, asking it to consume and metabolize fat at a high rate. And then we take it all away in the Reduce Phase… but here’s the trick: the body stays in this high fat-burning mode. The majority of the fat simply comes from the stored nutrition in the visceral fat cells.

How awesome is that?! So, as you begin the Skinny Up!® Protocol, pull that bowstring back as far as you can. Load well.

Lots of fats!

While you can consume carbs and sugar during the Loading Phase, remember that you don't need to eat lots of unhealthy foods in order to load well.

Some ideal foods during the Loading Phase are:

  • Avocados/guacamole
  • Cheese
  • Butter
  • Cream
  • Mayo
  • Nuts
  • Fatty meats like salami
  • Peanut butter
  • Dark chocolate

Some meal or snack ideas might be:

  • Chicken alfredo
  • A charcuterie board with meats and cheeses
  • Chips with guac and queso
  • Celery with nut butter
  • Egg salad sandwiches
  • A cheeseburger

Every person’s body is made up different cell memories, conditioned responses, stress reactions, and emotional triggers. Because of this, each person is a new, individual case when it comes to this program.

Where one person may have extreme success in losing quickly without many (or any) stall patterns, another person may feel that their Reduce Phase is riddled with ups and downs or stalls on their weight loss chart. It is important that we do not compare our weight loss with anyone else. There are a good portion of people that lose an average of .8 pounds per day over the course of each round, however, there are many people that average anywhere from .4 to .8 pounds per day.* (Take your total weight lost so far and divide that by the total number of days you have been in Reduce Phase to find your daily average weight loss). And then there are those who lose 1.5 pounds every day! It varies!

If we stepped into this program with the perception that we would lose 1/2 pound a day, we would be so happy that we were losing 1 pound every 2 days . . . Right?! But, because some people lose weight a bit more quickly, we become disappointed with our own amazing results!

Stalls happen for a number of reasons, but the main issue is that the liver is signaling the brain to slow down on weight loss while it gets caught up. The liver is the organ that has the job of sorting through everything that you consume which is coming in through the mouth, and then during this protocol, from the visceral fat cells where the body has stored away excess nutrition along with toxicity, hormones, old medications, and other things that we consume or create in life.

The liver has figured out how to live normal life, but during the Reduce Phase of the Skinny Up! Protocol, it is being asked to work harder than it normally works. Around day 10 (and then more as a person continues with the protocol), the liver will typically signal the brain to slow down on weight loss so that it can get caught up on processing everything that has been sent its way. This usually takes 2-4 days.

Once the liver processes through everything, it will signal the brain that it is time to begin losing weight again, and you'll begin to see the scale move once more.

Sometimes, though, there are additional reasons that a person is having difficulty breaking through a stall.

Here are some reasons for stalls or gains

  • Addition of oils or fats into the diet or absorbed through the skin.
  • Old weight set-point (your body feels safe at “this” weight)
  • Emotional issues: fear of success, fear of attention or advances from opposite sex, fear of giving up the excuse to be: sad, lonely, sick, tired, less than wonderful, less than beautiful, less than needed, less than worthy, less than…
  • Release of toxins (fat soluble toxins) back into the system which increases acidic nature of the internal terrain of the body. When the body becomes too acidic, it retains water to help alkalize the internal terrain. This extra water retention can show up as weight gain or a stall.
  • Stress from life
  • Poor sleep... causing additional stress on the body's systems.

All of the foods that are listed in the Skinny Up!® protocol have been specifically chosen to give you great nutrition while keeping it really simple so that your body can use the bulk of its energy to process and consume the stored nutrition from your visceral fat cells.

Depending on a person’s individual body, you might be fine including broccoli or green peppers as a vegetable choice, but not every person is able to consume some of those substitutes.

So, in an effort to make sure that each person is losing the most weight possible, we highly recommend sticking with the food choices that are listed in the Skinny Up!® protocol guide. Remember, it is just for a short time and you’re not only losing weight very quickly, you are detoxifying and cleaning out your body on a cellular level. This is such a healthy thing! Do the hard work and get healthy. You will not regret it.

Some of the most common substitutions that we get asked about are:

  • Broccoli - higher amount of natural carbs with lower water content
  • Green beans - relatively low water content
  • Peas - higher amount of starch
  • Salmon - higher amounts of oil, slowing down weight loss

Option 1. You may do an Apple Day. In an Apple Day, the only food you will eat are apples. You will consume up to 6 apples that day. (You may eat less, but no more than, six.) You will drink plenty of water, and may still consume coffee and tea. In effect, this is a mini liver cleanse, and should break your plateau.

Option 2. You may have a Mini-Steak Day. Similar to the Steak Day during Retrain Phase – except this very lean steak is only the allotted 3 ounces, and may not be cooked in fats or oils. You will have fasted all day, and will choose either an apple or a tomato to eat with your steak. You will drink plenty of water, and may still consume coffee and tea. This should break your plateau.

Yes – except for any oil-type supplements.

So, that means you need to avoid fish and omega oils, vitamin E, and vitamin D in its oil form. (You may take vitamin D in a tablet.)

The thought here is that we want your body to get the bulk of its fats and oils directly from the stored nutrition in the visceral fat cells. The body thrives when it feeds off of fat, and by correctly following the Skinny Up!® Protocol, we are asking the body to consume large amounts of fat -- directly from the fat stores in the body.

Skinny Up!® always recommends that you speak with your primary care physician regarding the Skinny Up!® Protocol, your supplements and medications, and that you follow their advice.

No! It is important to understand that the chemicals in diet soda have a negative effect on the glands, organs, hormones, and on neurology. The toxic effect of the artificial sweeteners on the body has been proven and should be avoided now, and always! We know that is not what you want to hear, however, there is an alternative.

If you need the bubbles, there is a way to get it without putting so much strain on the body. Sparkling water, low sodium club soda, mineral water, seltzer water, etc., all have fizz. Add Stevia to the seltzer water of your choice and you now have a soda that is much less harmful to the body. Nu-Naturals Vanilla Stevia has a very smooth aftertaste and can give sparkling water the flavor of Cream Soda. Now add any flavored Stevia, (Sweet Leaf brand carries many flavors) and you can have root-beer, lemon-lime, orange, etc. This is a great alternative, and, another wonderful advantage to using Stevia is that it actually helps to balance blood sugar levels in the body!! Double Bonus!

Most people follow the ‘handful’ rule. With lettuce, shredded cabbage and spinach, most people take as much as they can grab... which usually turns out to be 1 - 1 1/2 cups. A veggie like asparagus perhaps needs to be cut up to put in a measuring cup.

Try not to fret over serving size so much. Just use common sense and your best judgment to keep it around a handful.

There is always a chance that adding a chemical to our system can stall or slow down the process of fat loss. Chemicals are acid in the body. When the body becomes acidic, it has to retain water and fat to neutralize the acid. This could be interpreted as a stall on the scale.

However, stress is not helpful when it comes to weight loss and being in pain (for instance, a headache from such a fast detox) can certainly cause stress. Taking an Excedrin to help can help to reduce stress levels, and keep you on track as you navigate the first few days of the Skinny Up!® Protocol and the major detox that you can experience during that time.

Use your best judgement and do what you need to in order to take care of yourself. In other words, yes, you may use an over the counter pain med, but don't overdo it.

Yes! Click here to see some awesome recipes that can be used during the Reduce Phase of the Skinny Up!® Protocol. Additionally, we have created the Skinny Up!® Recipe Book that can be purchased along with your package or products with even more great recipes.

One simple way to stay gluten free is to just skip the bread portion.

For substitutions though, really any gluten free cracker that is sugar free would likely be alright. Look for simple. Look for no added sugar substitutes.

One good alternative that you could order would be the Pains de Crispbreads.

During Reduce Phase, you are not consuming enough waste to produce a daily bowel movement. This would not be considered constipation, and you should not be experiencing any discomfort or pain. You simply are only consuming enough waste to produce a bowel movement every three or four days.

Constipation would be accompanied by discomfort and feeling sick. If it is simply the case that you haven’t had a bowel movement in a few days, then it’s probably not that you’re constipated.

Instead, it is more likely that your body simply hasn’t produced enough waste to create a bowel movement. If you are feeling sick and experiencing discomfort, then you might be constipated, but it is not caused by Skinny Up!®. There must be another illness going on in your body.

Drink to satisfy your thirst. Coffee and teas are an option during Reduce Phase, but the main source of your hydration should be water.

A good rule of thumb is to drink half of your body weight in ounces each day. This may seem like too much, so don't overdo it. But it can be helpful for some to follow this guideline.

Yes! Check out Bare Foods, Inc. for some yummy and fairly inexpensive dressing and sauce options.

You can also shop carefully at your grocery store. Look for all-natural options with no sugar or sugar substitutes. Vinegar based dressings are typically better.

You can use an all-natural mustard or hot sauce during your protocol.

There are also dressing recipes available.

Yes! Keep taking your medications as prescribed by your doctor.

However, be sure to set up an appointment with that prescribing doctor within two weeks or so of beginning the Reduce Phase. You will have lost so much weight by that time that your doctor will want to be aware of the weight loss. He or she will want the opportunity to re-evaluate the levels of your prescription(s.)

We also want to encourage you and we highly recommend that you speak with your primary care physician before starting Skinny Up!®.

It is good to have the Skinny Up!® Reduce drops taken throughout the day in order to help direct your appetite to the stored nutrition in your visceral fat cells. Our goal is that you keep a nice, consistent level of Skinny Up! ® in your system.

This means that you should take your Skinny Up!® Reduce spaced evenly throughout the day, beginning as you rise in the morning. These times do not need to correlate with meal times.

It is important to spread out your Skinny Up!® Reduce doses to keep from experiencing hunger.

An example of a dosage times during the Reduce Phase would be:

  • 6:30 am wake up, take 0.75 mL of Skinny Up!® Reduce
  • 6:45 am take 1.0 mL of Skinny Up!® Yeast Redux
  • 2:00 pm take 0.75 mL of Skinny Up!® Reduce

  • 6:30 pm take 1.0 mL of Skinny Up!® Yeast Redux

  • 8:30 pm take 0.75 mL of Skinny Up!® Reduce

This is just an example. Ideally, Skinny Up!® Reduce is taken every 6-8 hours, beginning as you rise. Skinny Up!® Yeast Redux is taken every 10-12 hours, beginning as you rise.

We recommend that you don’t go beyond 40 days of the Reduce Phase at a time because our goal is to keep you healthy and safe while continually giving you the very best option for weight loss. That happens by making sure that your body is well-rested and stress-free. After the 40-day mark, we recommend that you do the 3 week Retrain Phase to give your body a rest and to make sure that your body does not become too accustomed to the awesome effects of Skinny Up!® Reduce. Once you finish the Retrain Phase, you can go into another round of Reduce right away (beginning with the Loading Phase again.

If you only have a few more pounds to go, you could tack on a few extra days, but we recommend that you do not go longer than 3-5 extra days on the Reduce Phase. If you have more than just a few pounds, plan on doing the Retrain Phase and then coming back to another Reduce Phase to reach your goal.

No. Zero calorie does not automatically mean healthy. Always read the ingredients so that you know what you’re putting into your body. This is a good thing to practice in every season of life, not just when you’re doing the Skinny Up!® protocol. Make sure that there isn’t added sugar or sugar substitutes which are often worse for you than plain ol’ sugar.

Actually, your body should be able to still get the bulk of its food from the stored nutrition in the visceral fat cells. Go ahead and follow the protocol as described in the protocol guide for a few days and see how you feel.

If needed, you can add in a few extra calories through the mouth by adding an egg or two as a breakfast portion. This should give a small amount of healthy fat with some good protein for you to help support the process without slowing down the weight loss.

First of all, meal prepping is a great tool when it comes to the Reduce Phase. You can cook an entire chicken and eat off of it all week. You could create a big batch of chili and portion it out into individual containers to take when you need a meal on the go. You could hard boil a dozen eggs and take them with you.

Sometimes, even the simple step of writing down a meal plan can help the cooking process not feel so overwhelming.

Other times, though, we really do need to be able to grab and go, so here are some meal ideas for when you need to buy something to eat.

  • A rotisserie chicken
  • Chicken or beef from the deli
  • A Caesar salad with grilled chicken
  •  Grilled steak with asparagus (a good choice when you're out to eat)
  • A lettuce wrap "sub" with roast beef and tomato
  • Hard boiled eggs (often gas stations or grocery stores have these already boiled and packaged)

Yes, any type of white fish is permissible during the Reduce Phase (or any phase, really).

You can also have tuna that has been packed in water.

Darker, oilier fish is not allowed during the Reduce Phase. This includes salmon.

Intermittent fasting is a great tool when to comes to giving your body the time, space, and energy to process stored nutrition that is coming out of the visceral fat cells. We would recommend that, as often as possible during the Reduce Phase, you fast from dinner all of the way until your lunch meal the next day. This allows your body to spend all of that time processing and consuming the stored nutrition that is coming from the visceral fat cells.

That being said, during the first few days as the body transitions from feeding off of sugar to now feeding off of fat all while detoxing in a big way, there can be a bit of hunger experienced. Splitting meals can be a good way to alleviate that hunger without derailing your journey.

This could look like consuming some of your lunch fruit portion as a mid-morning snack. Or some of your dinner protein portion as a mid-afternoon snack.

We would encourage you to always first address hunger by drinking some water, and then splitting your meals a bit if you find that you're still hungry.

If hunger persists more than a day or two, please contact our team. While a normal level of hunger should be experienced as you approach your lunch and dinner meal times, hunger should NOT be a constant companion during this journey. If you find that you are hungry a lot, please schedule a coaching call with the Skinny Up!® Team by clicking here. Our team is here to help!

The Retrain Phase is designed to let you learn what life is like as you eat when you’re hungry and as you do not eat when you’re not hungry. This means that there is no specific number of calories that we're shooting for.

Once you have completed the Reduce Phase, you are now free to add oils and fats back into your diet. In Retrain Phase you are allowed to eat fatty meats like turkey, ham, pork, tuna, salmon, etc. You also have a wider variety of fruits and vegetables to choose from. Be sure to read through the Retrain Phase section of the Skinny Up!® Protocol Guide in order to review the cautionary and prohibited food lists for this phase.

The Retrain Phase is a three-week long maintenance period that is most important for resetting the hypothalamus. Still no sugars or starches.

Continue to weigh every day and maintain your weight within 2 pounds of your last Reduce Phase weight. If at any time your weight is higher than 2 pounds of your last Reduce Phase weight, you will do a “steak day”. Fast on liquids for breakfast and lunch and then eat either an apple or tomato and large steak for an early dinner.

This should drop your weight to back within range of your last Reduce Phase weight. From that point on, eat as your body tells you to and eat smaller meals more frequently.

Consider taking our product, Skinny Up!® Maintain. This product will not support additional weight loss, but will help curb cravings for the sugars and starches you can’t yet partake of, and continue to give you a nice, even energy.

Let’s face it, Reduce Phase was “safe”. You had a certain portion of food that you ate, in a set manner, that finally moved you in a new direction with regard to your stubborn weight. It was simple and the “thinking” was done for you. Remember that even though you were only putting in around 500 calories per day through the mouth, you were consuming between 2,000 and 4,000 calories per day from your visceral fat. Your metabolism was alive and cranking during Reduce Phase! Now, during Retrain Phase, you need to keep that metabolism working, but you no longer have Skinny Up!® Reduce in your system to help you get calories from visceral fat – so you MUST eat enough food in order to keep your metabolism functioning well.

Consider taking Skinny Up!® Maintain. This product will not support additional weight loss, but will help curb cravings for the sugars and starches you can’t yet partake of, and continue to give you a nice, even energy.**

Though you may have a history wherein you have grown to distrust your body’s metabolism, and you hate to leave the safety of Reduce Phase, you need to recognize the fact that Skinny Up!® Reduce has helped you reset your body’s resting weight.* You need to learn to trust that your body is going to work hard to keep you at this new weight. You will be amazed that when you get on the scale in the morning, your weight will only move slightly up and down the scale within 2 pounds of your last Reduce Phase weight.

If you happen to eat something that is inflammatory to your body, you’ll know it because the scale will be higher. Use the easy fix: Just fast with liquids for breakfast and lunch (you can have V8 juice now) and have a big juicy steak with an apple or tomato for an early dinner. This will bring you down to a lower weight and you will be back on track again!

Remember that this is the time where your body is learning what its new normal is going to be, and with any learning, there is a bit of fluctuation. That is normal and expected. Every person has to do at least one steak day. Most people have to do two. And many people need to do even more. That is normal and a part of training your brain and body of the way that it will get to live life from now on.

We highly recommend that you do a 3 week Retrain (Maintenance) Phase before going back to normal eating or before going into another round of Reduce.

The Retrain Phase works to retrain the hypothalamus, which is that little piece of the brain that acts like a thermostat for the body. It controls the body's normal weight, metabolic rate and hunger level, among other functions.

The Retrain Phase gives the brain and body a chance to reset and rest after the hard work of the Reduce Phase. Those who adhere to the Retrain Phase have the very best chance of maintaining their hard-earned weight loss success.
